The journey start ?s, cycling along the Tagus River a unique area offering leisure, fun and culture: from Parque das Nações, along the riverfront, passing Praça do Comércio – Lisbon’s most iconic square. The way to Belém is perfect to enjoy the architecture, variety of museums, monuments, gardens, cafés and restaurants, and is also nice to taste the pastéis de Belém – Lisbon’s world famous egg tart pastries. You will leave Lisbon In Belém, taking a ferry boat to Trafaria and have the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful view over Lisbon and reach Costa da Caparica.

A day full of nature and adventure, with plenty to see and feel. We highlight the passing by the Arrábida Natural Park, in the north shore of the Sado River. Crossing the Arrábida hills, not missing two of the park's famous beaches—Portinho da Arrábida and Figueirinhas, or the panoramic view of the two beaches at the Convento de Nossa Senhora da Arrábida. The overnight will be in Setúbal, a city with many points of interest. We recommend you to visit the fish market do Livramento, which In 2015 was considered one of the most famous fish markets in the world.

Now in the Alentejo, a stunning region mostly flat. The plains full of wildflowers, sunflowers, vineyards and admirable beaches with crystalline waters and endless sandy areas. Some of these beaches are among the best ones in the country. The Alentejo villages are characterized by the whitewashed houses and the cities with great charm and rich history. The legacy from past times and civilizations, can be seen in its rich inheritance it houses impressive castles, Visigothic churches, Roman constructions fragments and even Paleolithic engravings. The prehistoric Alentejo was an active place and currently it is still possible to see numerous megaliths on it. The traditional cuisine is diverse with meat, fish and seafood, many types of cheese and good Alentejo wines. Cycling stage start with a ferry boat trip through the Sado Estuary Natural Reserve, where usually the ferries users are welcomed by the resident population of bottlenose dolphins. A rare phenomenon in the worldwide and unique in Portugal. This biologically rich area have also more than 250 avian species that can been seen during your boat trip. Sado River region is also characterized by the number or rice fields under cultivation. After landing the cycling journey starts in the peninsula of Troia, great beach, beautiful landscape of the Arrábida Hills. The Roman ruins from 1st century can be visited on the way to Sines. Throughout this day you will see dunes, beaches, rice fields, rural areas and typical villages. Overnight will be in Sines, the largest and first port area of Portugal.

Second day at Costa Vicentina Natural Park and, enjoying the peaceful nature with various and unique species of animal and plant life within the beautiful landscapes, marked by high cliffs hiding sandy coves and dunes. You will reach Aljezur, a small coastal village with typical houses from the rural architecture of the Algarve. At the top of the hill, the castle ramparts with an incredible cascade of houses going down the slope, reminding us the historical past.

Now at Algarve region and last cycling day, has plenty of reasons to enjoy it well. Sagres is one of the most important areas in the Algarve in terms of its exceptionally rich heritage (ranging from the fortress to ancient menhirs). Its significance to world history is tremendous, testified by a wealth of historical events, stories and legends. The high cliffs rise nearly vertically from the Atlantic to a height of 75 meters with an exuberant marine life. Visit the lighthouse at St. Vincent Cape and see the beautiful sunset in the south westernmost point of Portugal and Europe is recommended.
