Optional arrival in Girona and transfer to Olot. Olot is known for being the most singular volcano landscape in the Iberian Peninsula, with about 40 dormant volcanoes. You can also walk through La Fageda den Jordà, a beech wood, well-known for its beauty.

Les Planes dHostoles

Start to follow the cycle path along the old narrow gauge railway line "Carrilet dOlot". You reach Les Planes dHostoles, passing the fantastic area of the Bas Valley with its gorgeous countryside and typical villages, also called the Catalán Switzerland. Once in Les Planes, take your time to enjoy the gorges next to the river. 22 km - 14 miles

Cycle down the Ter River towards Girona. Once in the city, you can spend the rest of the day visiting the Cathedral, with the broadest nave of Gothic architecture in the world and getting lost in the narrow streets of the ancient Jewish quarter. We also recommend a stroll along the Rambla or the medieval walls, with a fantastic panoramic view of the city. 35 - 20 miles

Today is a short ride, so you have time to say goodbye to Girona. You pass the village of Quart, well-known for its ceramics, and Cassà de la Selva, with beautiful modernist houses in the centre of the town. The last stage is long but also flat and easy to cycle. A fun downhill takes you to the town of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, with its magnificent fishing port and cultural interest, especially for its monastery. You can enjoy the rest of the day at the beach. 30 km - 19 miles

  • IberoCycle transports luggage to the next hotel. On some stages cyclists are also transferred part of the way to avoid unnecessary climbs (details in individual route descriptions).

    Cyclists do not travel as part of a group or with a guide, although they may coincide with other cyclists on the same trip.

    Guests are transported to and from arrival / departure points, unless otherwise stated

    Our "IberoCycle On Call" service means we are always available for help or advice.

    Cyclists are provided with our own detailed Route Guide and maps for their chosen route.

    Fitter cyclists may extend stages at will.

    Guests on the Northern Spain tours normally spend two or three nights at the same hotel and thus have one or two free days. The Route Guide provides a selection of Free Day Routes of varying lengths for these days. These are of course merely suggestions, and guests are free to do what they like.

  • Clients are responsible for getting to and from the hotel in Torroella de Montgrí.

    Arrival in Torroella de Montgrí - Take the bus in Girona Bus Station; it takes 45 minutes and it costs 6€.
